New Lush I’ve received!

So, tomorrow is my birthday (yay!) and I received a few lush items as gifts. I love lush, they make it so easy to find products not tested on animals that actually work well and are worth the money. Anyway, I loved everything I received and I want to share with everyone in case you’re wondering whether you should go Lush or not.

My favorite item I received is the Sea Spray hair mist. I have curly, frizzy hair and the only way to keep it from frizzing up is by using mousse. But this spray actually has some hold to it (contains some gel) and my hair did not get frizzy ONE BIT. It is suppose to give you some volume, which I was worried about because of the frizz, BUT it made my hair more voluminous WITHOUT making it frizzy. I’ve never had this happen. My curls stayed in tact all day and my hair smelled absolutely amazing all day long. I love it! ($12ish)

Next, the Mint Julep lip scrub, their “cocktail lip scrub”. This made my lips super soft, and I simply licked it off once I finished scrubbing. Make sure to use lip balm afterwards, otherwise your lips might dry out. I’m only going to use this a few times a week. ($10)

Lastly, I received the Peppermint massage bar. This works perfect for massages because a couple of glides on the skin and you have enough to work with. It smells amazing and the mint is great for sore muscles (like all natural icy hot). Dealing with sore muscles is basically the story of my life so this is perfect for me. ($11)

That’s it! Thanks for reading:) I suggest you buy all of these because they last a while, are worth the money, and work GREAT.

How to have a healthy, zit-free face:)

Hey, guys! So, I’ve never had too much of a problem having clear skin but I think it’s because of my face cleansing routing. Of course, some people are more prone to acne but hopefully this can help you too!

Step 1: Salicylic acid scrub. Wash face at least every other day with a salicylic acid scrub. I use an apricot scrub so that the apricot pit chunks exfoliate my skin. For some people, it can be irritating and dry out their skin if used everyday, so using it every other day is recommended. However, I use it almost every day and my skin is fine, so experimenting is the best way to find out what is best for you. I used to use St. Ives but they do animal testing so I’m going to switch brands (there are a lot of non-animal testing apricot scrubs out there, like Burt’s Bees, and more I’ve seen at Target).

Step 2: Sunscreen! This is very important! Few people use SPF on their face, but it helps prevent zits and fast ageing due to sun exposure. I use a moisturizer that also has SPF 15, but ideally, you want SPF 35. Any SPF above that pretty much does the same job as SPF 35, so don’t waste your money on super high SPF. I have one from Sephora but apparently they started doing animal testing so now I have to find another brand.

Step 3. Wash face at night and after workouts (even if you don’t wear makeup). If you go to the gym and decide you’re not going home right away to shower, use a facial wipe. It is not good for sweat to lay on your skin, wiping your face down helps prevent dirt and sweat from clogging pores and causing pimples! Wiping face at night is also important because, especially in the summer, pollen has been collecting on your face all day (because of the sticky moisturizer and sunscreen). You don’t want dirt and pollen that has stuck to your face to land on your pillow at night. I use Yes to Cucumber soothing hypoallergenic facial towelettes from Target or basically anywhere. Not tested on animals:)

Step 4: Remove all make-up at night. I use alba botanica Hawaiian 3 in 1 clean towelettes with deep pore purifying pineapple enzyme. Not tested on animals. These remove makeup, and are used as a cleanser and toner. They are hypoallergenic and 100% vegetarian.

Step 5: Fighting zits. Last tip is for fighting mother nature. Of course, every month mother nature decides to remind us ladies that we are women, and some of use get zits around that time. When I see one coming in, I wash my face with the salicylic acid apricot scrub right away, no matter what time of day. Then I apply Clean and Clear persa-gel 10 that has 10% benzoyl peroxide that used to be sold only with a prescription. I also apply this at night before bed, and by the next morning it looks 50% better.

I hope these tips help, they have helped me tremendously and I wanted to share them with others:)
